Founded by Stefanie, a McMaster University graduate, Original Genes emerged from her desire to escape the 9-5 grind and embrace creativity. A passion for painting led her to hand-paint a denim jacket one day, sparking a journey that's uniquely Original Genes.
From those beginnings, OG has been featured on platforms like Cityline and Breakfast Television.
Each OG jacket is a personal canvas, crafted one-on-one with customers for an exclusive touch. Our commitment to sustainability shines through, as most pieces are upcycled, turning preloved clothing into stunning art.

CEO/Founder
Stefanie is the creative force and founder behind Original Genes. Raised in downtown Toronto, her designs reflect the city's vibrant essence. What began as a simple jacket painting transformed into the birth of Original Genes. Stefanie's mission is clear: inspire others to embrace their creativity. From corporate team-building to private parties, her workshops ignite imagination, fostering a space where uniqueness thrives.
Clarice
Artist
Clarice is a writer, actor and artist based in Toronto. She recently worked at the Van Gogh Immersive Exhibit as a commissioned artist. In November of 2020, she published her first collection of poetry, titled 'heart strings', which she wrote and illustrated. In addition to writing, painting and working on camera, Clarice has also directed several theatre productions, most recently at the 2019 Toronto Fringe Festival. Clarice is your go-to girl for all Impressionist-style paintings.
